We’ve fallen on our feet somewhat with the wonderful team of coffee lovers we’re surrounded with at Horsebox Coffee Company. The love for coffee runs deep, one way or another. We’ve worked with coffee for a combined number of years we’d rather not share! We’ve been drinking it for even longer and, what’s more, we really love working together.
Together we bring knowledge, experience and skills from the worlds of speciality coffee and hospitality to curate a collection of roasts, workshops and experiences that reflect our commitment to the wholesome coffee movement.
Emily fell in love with the wonderful world of coffee whilst heading up training and operations for a new café chain back in the nineties. She went on to become a member of the Speciality Coffee Association and pursued a career as an independent barista and trainer. During this time she studied green coffee, processing and roasting as well as advancing her brewing skills. Whilst running and developing Horsebox Coffee Co. she is enjoying working with wholesale clients and being part of a local foodie community whilst continually developing in the field of speciality coffee.
For Garry, like many, working in coffee started with a part-time barista job whilst studying. Quickly becoming aware of the vast variety of flavours and possibilities coffee has to offer, he took a complete career change. Soon he was running coffee shops before moving into training and then roasting. With more than 14 years’ experience, including delivering the NVQ barista course and completing the SCA coffee diploma, he is a firm believer that there is always something new to learn and explore.
David, now semi-retired after a long career as a chef, is our very talented baker and the creator of the legendary ‘Horsebox Brownie’. Having lived for many years in Italy, he is a big fan of espresso. He also has a fine palate for the nuances of good wines and whiskies and as such is part of our selection and quality control process.
This is Lesley, our inaugural Deux Chevaux Espresso partner. Lesley is into all things gastronomic and that of course includes coffee. A fully fledged barista, vintage vehicle lover and, would you believe it, horsey too. It was meant to be.
Felipa has followed the Horsebox since our first event in 2015. Felipa’s background is in PA and admin roles but she is very much into flavours and coffee shop culture. She has come on board to keep the roastery organised and help us look after our customers.
Emma is a super barista, having worked in numerous cafés from busy contract catering sites to a speciality roastery café. Emma got into coffee whilst travelling and working in cafés abroad but, like many of us here at Horsebox Coffee Co., grew up with horses and feels very much at home in the horsebox.
