We’ve fallen on our feet somewhat with the wonderful team of coffee lovers we’re surrounded with at Horsebox Coffee Company and Dark Horse Roastery. The love for coffee runs deep, one way or another. We’ve worked with coffee for a combined number of years we’d rather not share! We’ve been drinking it for even longer and, what’s more, we really love working together.
Together we bring knowledge, experience and skills from the worlds of speciality coffee and hospitality. To provide a wonderful Horsebox experience, and to curate a collection of coffee, workshops and services that reflect our commitment to the wholesome coffee movement.
Emily fell in love with the wonderful world of coffee whilst heading up training and operations for a new café concept back in the nineties. She went on to become a member of the Speciality Coffee Association and was lucky enough to visit coffee origin before pursuing a career as an independent barista and trainer. During this time she diligently studied green coffee, processing and roasting. Through Horsebox Coffee Co. she is enjoying developing direct relationships with coffee growers, perfecting her roasting skills and further exploring the diversity of coffee. She loves supporting and working with wholesale partners and being part of a local foodie community.
Martin has helped us out at Horsebox Coffee Co. since day one. He is our engineering genius. Always on hand for our new installations or to restore and supply second hand equipment. He is super-efficient with preventative maintenance and servicing to keep everything running smoothly for our wholesale partners. Martin has been working in coffee equipment engineering for decades and he has picked up a lot more than the nuts and bolts of it all. He is a big coffee fan, caring about quality and flavour too.
Felipa has been a supporter of Horsebox Coffee Co. since our first event in 2015. Felipa’s background is in PA and admin roles but she is very much into flavours and coffee shop culture. She has come on board to keep the roastery organised and help us look after our customers.
Emma is a super barista, having worked in numerous cafés from busy contract catering sites to a speciality roastery café. Emma got into coffee whilst travelling and working in cafés abroad. We are very lucky to have her on the events team here at Horsebox Coffee Co.
Alison is our Horsebox manager. She's run numerous busy high street coffee outlets and keeps the Horsebox super organised and running smoothly. She's so cool, calm and professional. Her milk textures and latte art are to die for and she's the go person to to talk beans and grinding for home brewing too.
Sam's a Horsebox stalwart having helped us out at events over the years whilst running a cafe with his mum and completing further studies. Sam's a black coffee drinker, into filter and flavour, and a very skilled barista too. He works closely with Alison to run the Horsebox and and other events.
