Tasting Notes: Balanced honey & almond notes

Due to the temperatures in Honduras, it often produces some super sweet and delicate coffees. This  current guest coffee certainly highlights these characteristics.

More about this product

  • Location

Finca Liquidambar has been set up by a group of like-minded people who are passionate about running the farm in the most sustainable way. There is very little waste and what is left over from production is turned into organic fertiliser.

  • Farm / Coop

They are a small team of 18, which increases to 30 during harvest time. The farm itself has recently grown in size to 45 hectares, 15 of which remain as a dedicated forest.

  • Processing

At harvesting time, only a small team who are expertly trained pick the cherries to guarantee they are picked at the optimum time. Once picked, they are transported to one of the owners to be pulped and washed. The next day they are taken to the drying area and placed on sun-drying African beds for 12 – 15 days depending upon what the ambient temperatures are at the time. The cherries are only sent to the exporter once they have reached 12% humidity.
