The horsebox was built in 1976 by Rice of Leicestershire and sold by a Newbury dealer soon afterwards to Emily’s mother when Emily was just a little girl. It was well used throughout the 1980s and 90s by Solomon, Joker and Edward Brightstar (Ned), travelling to local shows and cross country events.
After many years together, very sadly all three horses, best friends, passed away in the early noughties. The horsebox spent the next 15 years in a dry barn where, luckily, although a little rusty and shabby, it remained in excellent working order.
When Emily moved back home to Oxfordshire in 2008 after many years working in the speciality coffee community in London, she had the idea of transforming the horsebox into a vehicle to promote ethical and sustainable speciality coffee locally. In 2014, with family complete, the planning began and the dream was soon realised.
